A Fan Blog for the feature film, Gainsbourg (vie héroïque), about the music and life of French singer, songwriter, actor, and icon, Serge Gainsbourg. Now playing in France and coming soon to theaters around the world.
Again, put a Québec flag since the rest of Canada barely knows him. And if you do, you're cool :)
ReplyDeleteThanks again, Natasha! You're so full of good advice :D
ReplyDeleteI resent that as a British Columbian!
ReplyDeleteI'm also in la Colombie-Britannique. and i too resent that remark... that must be why the rest of canada thinks quebeckers are elitist (I was born in quebec by the way)
ReplyDeleteBut I am definitely waiting for the release of vie heroique over across the rockies!
I apologize to both of you. One of our readers felt it was necessary to draw a distinction between the French-Canadian (Quebec) & General English releases in Canada and I agree with her, so as not to confuse the larger Canadian population as a whole. I do, however, disagree that non-French Canadians don't know who Serge Gainsbourg is. I have readers from Ecuador to Australia who know & love Serge and there are die hard fans in places all over the world from classrooms to caves;) So sorry if anyone was offended.

For the record, dear British Columbians, there is a HUGE difference. Many films come out in Québec that don't get released in the rest of Canada. In fact, many Québec or French Canadian films you'll never even see in the rest of Canada unless they are in English or world-famous first. That's reality.
ReplyDeleteThanks to Adam for being realistic :)
